Remo Drum Tech Day – tuning masterclass, Q&A and setup advice (2 August 2025)

We’re hosting a full Remo Drum Tech Day at Graham Russell Drums on Saturday 2 August 2025. Opening times are 9:00am–5:00pm, with a focused tuning masterclass at 2:00pm led by Remo expert Jeff Davenport. Drop in any time for head selection advice, hands‑on tuning help, and a big Q&A after the session. Join us at Unit 5, Axis Park, Newgate Lane, Fareham PO14 1FD .

What to expect on the day

2:00pm masterclass: Jeff covers reliable methods for tom, snare and bass drum tuning, common pitfalls, and how head choice shapes feel, articulation and sustain. Expect plenty of practical demonstrations.

Q&A all day: Bring your questions. We’ll prioritise a longer Q&A straight after the masterclass and keep the conversation going through the afternoon.

Bring a drum: You’re welcome to bring a snare or individual drum for on‑the‑spot guidance.

Free, no booking required: Just turn up. If Jeff’s busy helping other customers, you might have to wait a little while — but you’re welcome to relax on our sofa, grab a tea or coffee, and explore the massive GRD showroom packed with drum kits, snares, cymbals, and accessories.

Do I need a ticket?
No. It’s free to attend and open all day.

Can I bring a drum?
Yes—snare or individual toms are ideal for personalised tuning help but definitely come down for some general advise if not. Feel free to purchase a snare drum or drum kit in store if you lose or forget your own on the day.

What kind of tuning will be covered?
Jeff will go through clear step-by-step techniques for tuning snares, toms and bass drums — with examples using Remo heads and plenty of real-world advice.

Can I buy heads and try them on the day?
Definitely. Our full Remo range will be available in-store — we can help you choose between different options and fit them for you as well.

Is this for beginners or more advanced players?
Both. Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been gigging for years, Jeff’s approach covers the essentials and the deeper tweaks.
