Buy this 8x7 Yamaha PHX tom as an add on to the stunning pre owned Yamaha PHX 22" Drum Kit, Textured Natural Ash. Part of Yamaha’s flagship PHX (Phoenix) series, this 8” x 7” rack tom is built using Yamaha’s 11-ply hybrid shell construction, combining Jatoba, Kapur and Maple tonewoods to deliver exceptional projection, dynamic range and tonal complexity. The dense Jatoba core provides a strong fundamental note and powerful projection, while the surrounding Kapur and Maple plies allow the shell to resonate freely for a rich, balanced tone with enhanced mid-low response and impressive sensitivity. The compact 8” diameter offers a focused, high-pitched voice with fast response and excellent articulation, ideal for modern fusion, progressive and technical playing styles.

Hardware includes Yamaha’s Hook Lug design and 3.0mm aluminium die-cast hoops, providing exceptional tuning precision while remaining lightweight enough to allow the shell to resonate naturally. The tom is mounted using the Y.E.S.S. II (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) which positions the mount at the shell’s nodal points to maximise resonance and sustain. Finished in Textured Natural Ash, the drum showcases a beautiful exotic ash veneer that highlights the craftsmanship of Yamaha’s hand-built PHX series, produced in limited quantities by specialist technicians in Japan.
